 Students will be going off to their college campus in the next few weeks. It's important to know fire safety tips for dorms and off campus apartments before an emergency happens. Knowing and practicing fire safety will save lives! As a student, you should know where the fire extinguishers are located and how to use one. Fire extinguishers are usually located in common areas, such as hallways or stairwells. Watch this short youtube video that teaches you how to use a fire extinguisher. Smoke alarms that are located in your housing are super important to have and know that they are in working order. A monthly test on the smoke alarms is a great way to be sure they are working. The NFPA (National Fire Protection Agency) has compiled some great tips and information for college students.
